ortho-bionomy®

Ortho-Bionomy® is a method of non-invasive bodywork therapy designed to help reduce pain, improve function and alignment, and reduce stress. The therapy involves gentle positioning and movement, including positional release and isometrics, to tap into the body's natural healing ability. The therapy is effective and often long-lasting because it helps break the cycle of pain without causing further stress or pain in the body.

Ortho-Bionomy® is effective for many different conditions including back problems, migraine headaches, arthritic conditions, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, carpel tunnel syndrome, joint sprains, muscle spasms and chronic pain. It can also help improve postural problems and reduce stress and stress patterns by reducing muscle tension, increasing flexibility, improving circulation and relaxing the entire body. Because of the gentle movements used in Ortho-Bionomy®, the therapy is safe for all ages and conditions, including cases of acute injury or severe pain. Ortho-Bionomy® may be combined with massage or other healing techniques to promote overall wellness.

What to Expect

Ortho-Bionomy® is conducted while the patient wears loose, comfortable clothing to allow full range of motion. The therapist will first talk to the patient about his or her health history, reason for seeking treatment and therapy goals. Depending on patient needs, each therapy session is different. The therapist will explore comfortable positions and work with each patient to identify areas of discomfort and tension as well as areas of comfort and ease of movement. Ortho-Bionomy® movements are not forceful and sessions are designed to be as comfortable as possible for each patient.
