Joan Dannacher, MA, SLP/L, RD/LDN
Joan Dannacher, MA, SLP/L, RD/LDN is a uniquely experienced professional, licensed in both speech-language pathology and dietetics/nutrition, and is able to incorporate both of these specialties into her practice.
Joan has extensive experience working with children who have deficits of sensory-motor integration. These deficits can affect multiple areas, including behavior, attention, language, communication, feeding, and nutrition. She is able to individualize treatment for issues involving growth and nutrition, specific food preferences, attention, cognition, speech-language development, food allergy/intolerance, weight management, and autism spectrum disorder.
Joan is trained in specific therapeutic approaches demonstrating proven results, including Therapeutic Listening and the Wilbarger Touch-Pressure Protocol for Sensory Defensiveness. In addition, she is certified through the American Dietetic Association in childhood and adolescent weight management and has participated in the Transitions Lifestyle System Shape Up program for children aged 10-17.
