The Oasis Center for Health is a unique practice that's designed with one goal in mind - the health of our patients. We believe that optimal health care comes not only from Western medicine or complementary medicine, but a combination of the two. While most other health care practices embrace one approach or the other, the Oasis Center for Health believes in and incorporates treatment and therapies from both - with all specialties and backgrounds working together to best meet the needs of our patients.

Personal Background and Experience

As founder and director of the Oasis Center for Health, I am board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. In addition to my education and training in Western medicine, I have a subspecialty board certification in Medical Acupuncture, as well as specialty training in integrative medicine and herbal medicine.

I saw a need and opened this practice because I know firsthand the benefits that complementary medicine can provide to patients, filling in the gaps where Western medicine is not as successful. I've sought out experts in a number of complementary specialties to include in the practice. These practitioners not only work side-by-side, but have integrated their practices in a true team approach.

A Team Approach

Although some health care practices have Western-trained physicians treating patients in the same office as complementary medicine practitioners, the Oasis Center for Health goes one step further. Our team of practitioners work closely with one another, seeking to learn from each other and coordinate care as appropriate. Once a week, all Oasis Center for Health physicians and practitioners come together to talk about therapies provided to our patients. In this team meeting, we discuss ideas for treatment. This ensures the best course of action is pursued for each patient. Each specialty provider respects and values each other's work, creating an environment where patient-centered care and healing - not individual specialties - is number one.

We believe this high level of communication and cooperation is cutting edge in the medical field. As a true team approach, this unique model brings health care one step closer to eliminating the terms "western" or allopathic medicine and "alternative" medicine - and moving toward "one medicine" that focuses on the best outcomes for the patient.
